Friday in music : I know you were trouble

Si j'avais plutôt un a priori négatif sur Taylor Swift (je ne comprenais ma co stagiaire qui était très fan l'été dernier), je dois reconnaître que j'aime beaucoup sa nouvelle chanson "I know you were trouble", qui me rappelle mes années Avril Lavigne, et qui est du genre qu'on se sort difficilement de la tête une fois qu'elle vient de passer à la radio... 

If I had a pretty negative opinion of Taylor Swift (I did not understand my co intern who was a big fan last summer) l, I must acknowledge I really like her new song "I know you were trouble". It remembers me of my Avril Lavigne years, and it is the kind of song that is really hard to get out of your head when you heard it on the radio.

DIY My little box Shelves

Si vous avez eu la chance d'essayer l'abonnement à  My little box , vous vous êtes probablement demandé(e)s quoi faire des boîtes en carton, certes adorables, mais plutôt inutiles, qui contenaient vos produits de beauté mensuels.

N'ayant pas envie de les jeter, je les ai transformées en une petite étagère très pratique pour ranger tous mes produits de beauté (notamment tous ceux qui étaient dans les box) (malin, hein ...).

If you had the chance to try the My little box subscription, you probably have no idea what to do with the lovely, but not so useful, cardboard boxes that contained your monthly beauty products. 

Not feeling like throwing them away, I transformed them in small shelves to sort out all my beauty products (including those that were in the boxes) (smart, eh...).

J'ai d'abord ajouté une bande de masking tape à l'intérieur pour dissimuler la démarcation du carton et donner un côté girly à l'ensemble. 

I first added a stripe of masking tape inside to hide the cardboard demarcation and give a girly look to the whole thing.

 Étape 2 - Step 2 :

 

J'ai ensuite collé les boîtes ensemble selon la forme que j'avais choisie.

Then I glued the boxes together in accordance with the shape I had chosen.

Pour finir, j'ai rempli avec tout mon joli bordel !

Finally, I filled it with all my pretty mess !

DIY Old wine rack turned planter

Il y a quelques semaines, j'ai trouvé un vieux porte bouteilles que mon père avait construit dans son enfance, et je me suis dit qu'on pouvait forcément à faire quelque chose. Après avoir cherché un peu, j'ai eu l'idée de le transformer en pot pour y planter des succulentes, car cela faisait un moment que ces petites plantes me faisaient envie.

 

A few weeks ago I found an old wine rack my father had made during his childhood. I knew something could made out of it, and after wondering a bit, I had the idea to turn it into a planter, since I had been looking forward to planting succulents for a long time.

Étape 1 - Step 1

D'abord j'ai poncé le bois, pour le préparer pour la peinture.

First, I sanded the wood, to prepare it for the painting.















Étape 2 - Step 2

 Je l'ai peint. Et j'ai ajouté un papier autocollant sur le fond pour retenir la terre.

I painted it. And I added a self-adhesive paper to hold back the soil.

Étape 3 - Step 3

Et voilà le résultat avec les plantes grasses que j'ai plantées.

And here is the result with the succulents I planted.

En bonus, voici le bébé plante supplémentaire pour lequel j'ai craqué, disposé avec l'affiche de chat endormi (si mignon) que j'ai ramenée de la National Gallery à Londres.

As a free gift, this is the additional baby plant I fell for, displayed with the (so cute) "Sleepy cat" poster I brought back from London National Gallery.
